When you are working from your home, the main problem is that you have your roommates or family that don’t understand that working from home means that you have to work the whole day. In that case, you have to set and maintain the boundaries.
Explain your kids or your family members that they are not allowed to enter the room where you are working. You have to tell them not to bother you hen you are in the middle of something. You may need to ask them for a complete silence if you are about to make a call.
Treat like any other day at the office.
You have to treat your work from the home day like any other normal day in the office. Some people get lazy with the thought that they don’t have to travel to the office that day so they should get some extra sleep. But believe me that it can make you even more lazy and tired for the rest of the day.
So, all you have to do is to wake at your usual time. And the time that you had left for traveling can be used to do the things you don’t have time for. for example, a leisurely breakfast or some exercise, etc. at your normal time, sit down at your working place and start working.
End your day
There has to be a balance kept between everything. Don’t overwork yourself. You don’t have to prove your boss by sitting late that you are working, there is nothing wrong with leaving the workplace on time. When you are working from home, you have to keep your superiors in the loop. Maintain proper documentation of your work progress and talk to them about your workflow. And by the end of the day, you can easily leave without any unnecessary need of sitting late.
